Does Fast Food Rot Day 10
Whew… now back to realtime.
Damn I hate science. You need to be so organized, and you can’t afford to lose anything. That is my way of saying I lost this mornings photos… No May 11th AM shots… sorry.
Image #26: May 11th 9:23 AM. It is a disgusting cesspool of rot in there. The smell is overpowering, but I need to take off the lid so you can all share in the molding mess. Looks like mold is the only thing attacking these burgers. Not sure what else I would expect, but some maggots would be nice… Maybe soon enough. If the damn tomato will rot and produce some fruit flies, maybe they will lay eggs in stuff… I am sure there are rot experts, and it would be great if they would weigh in on this subject. What should we expect here?
Image #28: May 11th 9:23 AM. It appears that the left side is a bad side for burgers as the fuzz mold is growing up the side of the organic burger. As well, the molds between the organic and McDonalds burger are about to grow together.
Image #29: May 11th 9:23 AM. Look at the Burger King burger… it has a halo of light fuzz all around the outside. Thank you for joining the party Burger King. It took you awhile to get here, but we are happy you have arrived. I wonder why it took as long as it did. The burger is more contained inside this bun than any of the other burgers, so the meat was definitely less exposed to the air. The bun though had no real reason not to mold.
Image #31: May 11th 9:23 AM. The Burger King burger looks fine on the inside, but once again, the inside is much less exposed. When I lifted the top bun off the first time, it was quite difficult to get off as the cheese had molded the top on. In the end, some of the bun got left on the cheese.
The only real surprise with this experiment is that it has lasted this long without getting thrown out. It is a vile mess inside the greenhouse and it smells so badly of mold when I take off the lid. I will keep an eye on the Burger King burger and see if it gets more visibly moldy. If it does, I will call this experiment concluded in the Kitchen and move it outside.
